About Us

We are a small but dedicated team based in the sunny Bay of Plenty, committed to breeding and producing top-quality horses.

Our goal is for every weanling that leaves our farm to be confident, well-handled, and equipped with strong foundational skills—ready to begin building a successful partnership with their new owner.

We are continually refining our breeding program with the vision of producing international-quality horses, right here in our own backyard.

Our weanlings are raised in herds, giving them the freedom to grow, play, and simply be horses. They are handled regularly, and from six weeks of age they receive consistent farrier care, vaccinations, and routine drenches following the Worm-Ed baby horse program. Each foal is float and truck–loading trained, taught to wear covers, and—of course—comes to love a good scratch.

They spend their days running over the rolling hill country at the back of the farm, developing strength, balance, and true sure-footedness.

We also offer foaling-down and artificial insemination packages in partnership with our trusted veterinary team. Foaling down is one of Shayes’ greatest passions, she approaches every birth with exceptional care and pride—treating each mare and foal as if they were her own and the most valuable animals in the world.

Testimonials

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting Still Waters Sport Horses in Te Puke to view three weanling warm blood horses that were for sale
In my opinion all three horses were very healthy, their body condition was excellent as was their  temperament and all three had been very well handled.
I found the Shaye the owner of Still Waters to an honest helpful friendly person who was  more than wiling to provide honest in depth answers to all my queries. I also found Shaye to be very passionate and caring not only towards all the horses in her care but also to the equine industry in which she is involved
Following my visit the weanling Still Waters Dark  - N - Storm was purchased by Maisie Holyoake. I consider this warmblood filly to be a very nice type of horse with great potential”

Our Firm (TFS Horse Transport) took Stormy from Te Puke down to Canterbury for Karen. We transport over 1000 horses a year and I would say that Stormy's temperament and training were second to none. For a 10month old she was exceptional to handle and it was obvious she had been prepared brilliantly. Mike (Manager, and part-time stablehand at Blenheim en route
