Shaye Wotherspoon
Founder & Head of Breeding Operations
Shaye has always loved horses, though she’ll happily admit she’s more of a farm hack rider than a competitive one. What she lacks in saddle experience she more than makes up for with her vision, dedication, and expertise in breeding and horse management.
Shaye is the mastermind behind our breeding program, carefully selecting bloodlines for temperament, performance, and long-term potential. She oversees every stage of planning, mating, and foal management, ensuring that each foal receives the best possible start in life. From managing pregnancies and foal care to working with weanlings and young stock, Shaye treats every horse as if it were her own, taking immense pride in their development and wellbeing.
Her passion, precision, and commitment make her the driving force behind Still Waters, ensuring that the farm produces confident, well-prepared horses ready to thrive with their new owners.

Shaun Wotherspoon
Founder & Head of Farm Operations
Shaun is a mechanic by trade, but when his four-year-old daughter said she wanted to ride ponies—and Shaye decided she wanted to breed them—he stepped up as farm manager to keep everything running smoothly. Farms don’t manage themselves, and Shaun quickly mastered every aspect of horse and farm management, from daily operations and feed schedules to paddock maintenance and horse care.
His dedication, calm problem-solving, and hands-on approach make him the backbone of Still Waters. Shaun ensures that everything runs efficiently so the team can focus on what they love most—working with the horses. His practical expertise, reliability, and support for the family and team make him an indispensable part of the farm.

Jasmine Janson
Lead Equestrian & Trainer
Jazzy is a 17-year-old from Reporoa who has grown up around horses, learning under the guidance of her mum at 3 Hearts Equestrian. After finishing school, she moved to Auckland to work at a stable there—until we were lucky enough to convince her to join Still Waters.
Since joining the team, Jazzy has become an indispensable part of everything we do. She is not only an exceptional rider and horsewoman, but also a brilliant coach and mentor to the younger riders. Her dedication, skill, and professionalism elevate the standard of care and training across the farm. Jazzy’s calm, confident approach inspires both horses and humans alike, and her work ethic ensures that every task—from training and riding to daily management—is handled with excellence. She is truly a cornerstone of the Still Waters team, and we wouldn’t be where we are without her.

-
Indie Wotherspoon
Still Waters Young Rider and Stable Sidekick
Indie is the smallest member of our team but one of the biggest inspirations for everything we do. Her love for riding began at just four years old, and she’s rarely seen without a pony under her or a foal at her side.
Now six, Indie already has her own little collection of ponies and foals and is eager to learn and develop her skills every day. She is full of energy, curiosity, and determination, bringing joy and enthusiasm to the farm. Indie’s passion for horses is infectious, and her growing confidence and dedication show that she is well on her way to becoming a skilled, knowledgeable young rider and ambassador for Still Waters.

-
Cullen Wotherspoon
Stable Support Superstar & Still Waters Smile Maker
Cullen, 15, has a huge heart for horses and has never let cerebral palsy dampen his passion. He once rode his own pony in a specialised saddle, and while a recent hip operation means he can’t ride at the moment, he still finds immense joy in spending time with the horses.
From his chair, Cullen takes on a natural supervisor role, keeping a watchful eye over the paddocks and supporting Jazz and Indie in their riding and training. He loves spending time with the horses, letting them interact with him, and simply being part of the action on the farm. His positivity, patience, and quiet leadership make him a vital presence, and his love for the horses makes him an irreplaceable member of the Still Waters team.
-
Lochie Wotherspoon
Good Vibes Coordinator & Off-Field Team MVP
Lochie may not spend much time in the paddocks, but he is a vital part of the Still Waters team. When he’s not playing the drums or perfecting his golf swing, he somehow knows exactly which horse is which—and keeps the family accountable to everything they say.
He is a huge supporter of Indie and Jazzy, always cheering them on and helping them stay motivated. Lochie’s sense of humour, reliability, and thoughtful presence bring balance and positivity to the farm, ensuring that Mum and the team have the support they need to thrive. He may not ride, but his contribution to the family and farm is invaluable.
